Refining the Product Image

How we see.

During this phase, Photo Image Editors and Dimension Specialists begin production and refinement of the Digital Product Content. The product image and its data exist online, inside your planogram, and anywhere within your retail ecosystem. Artfully, the editors enhance necessary elements of the RAW image to produce your engaging digital asset. With a computer-enabled and hands-on approach, Dimension Specialists capture an item’s metadata and product attributes.

They work with Photoshop, other Adobe software, and proprietary inventions to edit the image and to dimension the product item before delivering various client-specified output. Then, the final product can be added to an exhaustive catalog of images. Later, clients access this library to create updates, additions, and deletions with OmniPIX™. This eCommerce DAM and PIM solution manages and maintains the highest quality digital assets for consistent OmniChannel application and use. In other words, you can make necessary and seamless connections over all points of interaction with shoppers and consumers with consistent digital product content.

1) PHOTO IMAGE EDITING. Capturing the item/product in single or multiple views generates the product image. However, they are not the final product that retailers use to engage shoppers across different touchpoints of interaction. These images are refined and enhanced by the skillful eye of editors. They use technology to depict a product in a way that conveys its brand story and accomplishes its merchandising goals.

Product images are combined with the work product of the Dimension Specialist whose contributions complete the comprehensive nature of the digital asset to be both image and information. The editors make sure that the product image (while in a two dimensional space) is consistent with the 3D world of real lives whose consumers want what they see online to match what is delivered to them.

2) DIMENSION-ING. The Dimension Specialist adds information to the product image for the purpose of creating a digital asset for OmniChannel use. This task is not simply measuring the height, width, and depth of and or weighing a product. This step involves carefully gathering quantitative and qualitative information about the product.

There are aspects of the metadata which assist the retailer, for example, in shelf setup with such information as nesting or capping properties and crush factor. There are product attributes gathered at this time which provide pertinent details for discerning shoppers. Whether measurable or descriptive, we gather, implement, and produce this information consistent with GS1 standards that require efficiency and collaboration across a global business environment.
